During my interviews I talked to three golf course superintendents. What I found out from these three was that maintaining a golf course takes every day besides Christmas working on the course, seeing the issues at hand and attacking it. Imagine being responsible for 100 acres and you don't want one weed to grow. Thats a lot of pressure. That is what these guys are trying to do day in and day out. Now none of these three have weed free courses, no one does, but maintaining the look that will be optimal playing conditions is their number one concern. When we talked about polyon, their eyes lit up. Thats the best product out there, they all said. So knowing what they know already about polyon shows me that I will be meeting their needs right away.
If they all wanted to know what kind of fertilizer they wanted to put on their course, they could google search greens grade/ fairway grade fertilizer with polyon or they could simply call me up and ask what my position and opinion would be for them to use. I would run out to their courses see what they have going on and then give them my opinion. They may or may not take it or could adjust it to their price range but that is where the information search would mainly be would be between me and them personally.

Hey Garrett,
ReplyDeleteI would have liked to see the questions and answers of your interviews. The gold course superintendents said that it was the best product out there, but did you mention any regulations that deal with polluting the environment? I did mention this when I commented on your other blog post. So, I wont go into it. I am glad they were interested in your product. I hope that you do well in producing and manufacturing! Overall, golf courses need to use less water and if a fertilizer helps, the superintendents should be on board.
