I would describe myself as a person who can bring people together. I have a personality that is loving and kind to every one I come into contact with and have always strived to be that way. I am a hard worker who loves to get the job done to the best of my abilities and also am a competitive guy who wants to win at most things even if it is just a conversation about nothing important.  After hearing what they said about me I was shocked, they all kind of see me in the same ways I see myself (i don't know if that's good or bad) but they all seemed to be pretty positive things. I would love to be able to continue to grow as a person and continue to love on everybody. Being an inspiration is one of my goals in life, that somebody looks at me and says thats the way it should be done, I hope I get there.

15A

During my interviews, I was able to get more attention for my product. The interview was based off of questions from both me and my interviewees. I got questions of ways that could better improve our environment, labor for spreading and   how efficient it is comparatively. I asked them what are some of the important qualities they're looking for and where is it in their budget to purchase a more expensive fertilizer and a few more. The answers they gave me to my questions where for the first one, they're all looking for something that will make their courses pop to their clients. They want it to be in the best condition for their budget and if that was going to be possible they would give me business. They all also stated that they don't want any contamination from the fertilizer if it was a new chemical they would want it to be tested on samples before committing. I reassured them that samples will be done and proven to find to their surprise the longevity and quality w...

14 A- Halfway Reflection

1.) To be successful in this course you must maintain ahead of the game. Start your blogs early, even if you don't finish them in one sitting. It is easier to edit material at the end of the week (or whenever it is due) than to finish them all in one sitting. That is something I have developed through the semester. The course work isn't difficult, but needs to have you attention and you don't want to sound lazy in your blogs to your classmates. 2.) Well I tried to take this class in the spring semester and gave up on it early because I had a full plate and I felt like it was too much, so I've been there. But when this semester started I was getting adjusted to a full time internship and traveling a lot with that job and the first couple assignments I didn't have any focus on it and fell behind. So again, I was contemplating on giving up. But I just told myself this just needs so little of your time a day and just do it. Stop making excuses and do the work, so I d...

13A Reading Reflection Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson

1.) A few things surprised my about Steve Jobs that I din't know, he was adopted for starters and got his hands dirty at a young age when he would work on cars with his adopted father so the building a designing mindset came to him early on. Another big one I didn't realized happened was that once he got going and was big, Jobs and Gates worked together and Microsoft programmed some apps for Mac! I loved the fact that everything that Jobs sold was "the greatest thing ever" he couldn't sell a product that wasn't. As a young man he was extremely intense and would often go on spells of being completely silent just in his own thoughts trying to make something new. 2.) Jobs was an extremely smart man. He could sell you anything with the way he would communicate to his consumers was next level stuff. Steve was also wanting to be the very best and that competitive nature helped get him over the top when it came to crunch time. 3.) I really didn't like how he le...

During my interviews I talked to three golf course superintendents. What I found out from these three was that maintaining a golf course takes every day besides Christmas working on the course, seeing the issues at hand and attacking it. Imagine being responsible for 100 acres and you don't want one weed to grow. Thats a lot of pressure. That is what these guys are trying to do day in and day out. Now none of these three have weed free courses, no one does, but maintaining the look that will be optimal playing conditions is their number one concern. When we talked about polyon, their eyes lit up. Thats the best product out there, they all said. So knowing what they know already about polyon shows me that I will be meeting their needs right away. If they all wanted to know what kind of fertilizer they wanted to put on their course, they could google search greens grade/ fairway grade fertilizer with polyon or they could simply call me up and ask what my position and opinion would ...

11A- Idea Napkin no.1

1.) I have grown in a great environment. My mother stayed at home while I was younger and my father is a police officer so my siblings and I had a simple childhood. I caught on to sports and have been playing since i was four years old and have continued to play to this day (playing football here at UF). It has been a crazy journey and when I was younger, my aspirations was to be a professional athlete but I have now directed my views to becoming a successful business man, husband and father. In business, I would like to go into sales potentially, turf fertilizer sales is what I am looking to right now. Selling a slow releasing fertilizer to maintain the feeding process to the plant for an extended amount of time instead of it being a quick release and my future customers having to apply more each year. I would love to either be a sales rep and ultimately work my way up to an executive role. 2.)With the product I will be selling to customers, Polyon, it is a coated fertilizer that re...

9A- Testing the Hypothesis Part 2

Image
I have conducted 5 interviews this week and I asked them to simply think as if they are the owner of a nursery business and you are calling the shots. The Who: those who have no idea about what goes on in the agriculture business, those who have some knowledge and those who are invested in nursery business. By choosing three different (really 5) view points, I can attain a good grasp of what the majority will lean towards. The What: The difference in options as a nursery farmer will bring forth many different fertilizer options. Not one fertilizer will fit all plants. These will be custom mixes with the higher quality mixes. The Why: Why do we need those who have no interest in the nursery industry to give an opinion? So we can see what all mindsets think of. Not just getting liked minded people answering the same questions. The questions asked to them included, what type of fertilizer would you purchase? The least expensive one, the middle ground, or higher quality fertilizer....

8A- Solving The Problem

The problem that was in my previous post was the difficult opportunity of selling higher quality, more expensive, fertilizer to nursery farmers. The issue is having the best quality by keeping to your budget and my argument will aim towards purchasing the more expensive for the output it will bring, and why cheaper alternatives will end up failing you in the long run. With most people are unaware of the fertilizer business for nursery farms, it is hard to know the difference between the cheapest and best. While many businesses will take advantage of the cheaper products to make sure their cash flow is running on full cylinders, I would like to explain why purchasing the higher rated fertilizer will actually help you out in the long run. There are many different suppliers of fertilizer you could buy from. The ones at Lowes or Home Depot or you could find a company the specializes in fertilizer. The latter option would be an economically better way to go since you want to make money at...
